Tell us what happened, who the parties are, and where we can check it. The best tip points to a document: a filing, a register entry, an announcement. We do not name a source who asks not to be named, and we never ask you to send secrets or credentials.
A mistake
Send the link to the item, the sentence you think is wrong, and a source for the right version if you have one. The way we handle it is set out under Corrections on Sources & Method.
Advertising
The site carries no advertising and no sponsored material. Writing to us does not buy coverage.
What we do not take
A press release with no primary document behind it does not guarantee a story. We do not run posts written for us by a third party in return for a link, and we do not accept pitches that ask us to hide who is paying.
Your personal data
A request to see, correct or delete data we hold about you goes to the same address. The details are on Records we keep.
How we reply
We read every message that reaches this address. How quickly we can reply depends on the volume of tips and questions we receive. E-mail is the only route to us. A request for your password or card details in a message to you is not from us.
